Horse & Oak Story
Hand-Stitched
Pre-Industrial Bespoke Leatherwork
The Work
Horse & Oak Leather is built on the vintage methods of American Combat Leather tradition, the same craft that outfitted lawmen, soldiers, and working men for generations.
My philosophy is one of Controlled Aggression. Strength restrained by discipline. Using vintage hand tools and traditional hand saddle-stitching, I create my Structured Volume. Congruent shapes, universal across my family of 1911 Holsters, that feel alive, substantial, and purposeful. Sweeping curvatures set against hard lines define the visual language of every Horse & Oak piece.
I work exclusively with generational horsehide. Tanned the same way by the same family for 5 generations, selected for its density, structure, and longevity. Horsehide forms to the body, holds its shape under pressure, and can withstand saltwater, high heat, and other harsh environments.
The Process
Each piece begins as a flat hide and is transformed by hand. Every cut, stitch, and contour is guided by feel and experience. Drafted, hand molded, and built to order with my great-grandfather's leatherworking tools. Time, pressure and patience creating what machines cannot.
Who Horse & Oak Builds For
Horse & Oak is proud to build for those who have served and those who are fighters in life. First responders, officers, military, and good men who stand by their values every day.
Made Specially for You
Every piece is made specially for you upon order. I'm very grateful for your support and trust.
A semi-custom or bespoke 1911 deserves a Holster built with the same standards that guided its creation.
